Greg Walker, Nancy Salsedo Meyers, Melinda Wetzel Oliver, and I agreed tonight on the site for our 45th reunion: The Four Points Sheraton with the fabulous Faz restaurant catering the buffet. The Four Points Sheraton is a very pretty place and we're pretty excited, very excited, about it. Ambience is relaxed, and the location---at the junction of 580 and 680---in Pleasanton is easy to get to. There's even a BART station within a mile of the hotel for classmates who might fly into Oakland. The room rates ($69/$79) for a beautiful room are so reasonable and we're hoping that our classmates will "join the party" on Saturday, October 2, 2010.
That's your personal invitation, all you folks who are checking out this website and are members of our fabulous Class of '65!! Even if you've NEVER come to a reunion before, you'll surely have a great time at this one. . . seeing how cute and hep we all still look and are! Looking forward to seeing everyone! Melinda
Hello everyone, Google, Facebook, twitter, whatever... Help us find as many classmates as possible and send them to this site to update their profile and keep in touch.
And then...get as many of us to the reunion as we can. Let's make this the party of the decade!
I can't wait for the reunion. You all better practice your dance moves!! Because I will on the dance floor. If my legs don't cramp that is!! LOL!! Looking forward to seeing you all. Thanks, Greg, for putting Mustang Sally on the jukebox!! Ron Scarborough
P.S. Just made my hotel reservation. See you all there!
Great to see the photos that Lawrn Seeley posted! Is there's a fisher trend with a few of the SLHS Pirate men? Good fishing the first-second week of October in the SF Bay Area? Santa Cruz? Would that get the fishers to the reunion?
I just suggested in an email to Lawrnie that an Oregonian caravan be formed. Circle the wagons and come on down to the Bay Area for the reunion, all you northern folk!!
Thank all of you for working so hard to put this reunion together, Marty Rego, Carole Blasquez Carole Forsburg, Kathy Blasquez, and Me Janis Linn will be there Girls only and staying at the Hotel, Should be great fun, we may even plan a before party. Keep in touch
The reunion committee tried to sing the school song the other night...sad attempt at the words although we seemed to have the beat down. How many of you remember the words?
Here you go:
Hail, San Leandro, hats off to you.
Ever you'll find us loyal and true,
Firm and undaunted always we'll be,
Hail to the school we love,
Here's a toast to you.
Fight on, ye Pirates, fight for our school,
We're cheering for you; we're proud of you.
Fight ever forward; our goal's in view,
Hail, Pirates, fight, fight, fight, for the red and blue!
Janis I read your posting regarding the group of girls you are getting together with at the reunion. If my memory serves me well this might be a program like the Housewives of New Jersey. It could go out to a national audience if you record it. Glad you have all the great friends to visit. Have a great time. Best Wishes, Rich Castro
Now that's a great idea Rich, Housewives of San Leandro High! Girls that's better than the calendar idea. Rich would love to see you at the reunion. Try and make it. I know this is a late 70's hit, but good to dance to Old Time Rock & Roll.
As some of you know one of our girlfriends Carole Forsberg Sykes, is having some medical problems, she is going in for a procedure on the 19th of August. Just wanted to let you know, so you could keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I spoke to her this morning and she said she would see us at the reunion.
Wonderful news about Carole, surgery went well, she did have to spend 1 night in the hospital. But I was told the surgery was a success. After I talk to her I will relay the information.
