Marilyn (Brannan) deGennaro just let me know that one of her good friends, and classmate of ours, Irene Gee, passed away on October 5th. She was a retired elementary school teacher and had been living in Hayward. She was able to join us for our 50th reunion and shared a nice summary of "what I've done for the past 50 years" in the booklet prepared by Celeste Squires Barker. Take a look at it if you have a copy.

Sorry to hear. Hope and trust as a former school teacher. She had a rewarding and full life.

Irene and I knew each other from elementary school. My mom would drive she and I to h.s. when we were teenagers. She was always so polite and kind. Another angel takes flight.

Irene and I were lab partners in Mr Barber's chem class. I was so lost in that class! When Irene and I talked in advance of our last class reunion, I told her I would never have been able to complete the chem labs without her help (algebra required!). She assured me that I would have done fine without her and we laughed. Always kind and looking out for others, Irene was a jewel.
