Ed Reitz was a good guy.

When Dicky Driscoll knocked me down in front of Carol Malgrady it was Ed that saved me. He knew he could outrun Driscoll; so he kicked him in the shinbone and took off running. Driscoll took off after him, saving me from a more terrible beating.

Not surprisingly, he was a good Boy Scout too [Troop 506].

RIP Dude....

Ed lived right next door to Carol Malgradi, Bill, I was going to mention that in my last comment. Outside of school, use to see him when I was over Carol's.

So sad to hear about Ed.  Ed and Carol Malgradi were customers on my paper route.  Ed would always hassle me and he would throw the Oakland Tribune newspaper back at me.  He was also in my Boy Scout troop--yes Bill it was Troop 506 and we met in the attic of the Memorial Building across from Bancroft.  He was a great guy.
